Museum Studies

Projects:Museum Audience

In Museum Audience you’ll immediately start applying the theory discussed in the classroom to a practical project. By collaborating with a local museum to conducting visitor research, the team-approach to problem solving provides “real world” experience and results in a professional report for your portfolio.

Museum Audience is a lecture into practice course focusing on the visitor experience through museum communications and learning. It is designed to identify the characteristics of museum visitors, the ways in which visitors experience museum exhibitions, cognitive and affective behavior, the relationship of museum exhibitions and educational programming, and the impact of institutions and visitor studies on the planning and design of institutions, museum exhibitions, and environments.
